Deodato S. Manteiga, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed peacefully at home on April 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband to Maria (Valente) Manteiga. Born on March 22, 1945, in Sao Miguel Azores, he was a son of the late Francisco and Maria (Vieira) Manteiga, who instilled in him the values of kindness and perseverance.

Deodato was a hard worker who dedicated his life to providing for his family, always going the extra mile to ensure their happiness. He had an infectious sense of humor and was known for making people laugh, often lighting up a room with his warm smile and quick wit. His generous spirit was evident in everything he did, as he consistently put others before himself, always ready to lend a helping hand.
He found immense joy in spending time with his family, particularly with his grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness. He loved helping others and taught the importance of kindness and the power of a good laugh, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his cherished son, Deodato A. Manteiga, and his fiancé, Amber Hill. His daughters, Rosa Jodoin and her husband, Francis, and Stephany Champeau and her husband, Scott, were a source of pride and joy for him. Deodato’s grandchildren, Hayden Manteiga, Tyler Jodoin, Dylan Jodoin, and Ariana Sousa, were the apples of his eye, and he relished every moment spent with them. He cherished their laughter and delight in life, always eager to share in their adventures and accomplishments. In addition to being a loving father and grandfather, Deodato held a special place in the hearts of his siblings, Leontina Perry, Cidalia Costa, and Jose Manteiga.
